Problem: I have a one-to-many relationship set up between two post types. In the child post single page, I would like to display a View of other sibling child posts.
Solution: This feature does not currently exist in Blocks, but in classic Views you can create a Query Filter for post relationship, where the parent post is set by a shortcode attribute "wpvrelatedto". Then you can provide the current post's parent post ID in the View shortcode as shown here:
Problem:
The user would like to display repeatable groups in a custom post type, but the view renders all the child posts from all posts rather than the child from the current post.
Solution:
When displaying a repeatable group, make sure to choose the correct relationship for the view, the relationship is holding the repeatable group to the assigned custom post type. Check this screenshot https://prnt.sc/sym45z
Problem: I would like to know how I can upload a file that can be downloaded from a User's (WooCommerce) My Account page.
Solution:
- You can create a custom file field or a group of custom file fields on User Profiles.
- You can use Types field shortcodes to display links to those files on the My Account page.
- Each User will see his or her own fields on the My Account page until the admin clears those custom fields.
A few limitations to be aware of:
- The My Account page is usually generated by a single shortcode woocommerce_my_account placed in the Page's content. You would have to place your Types field shortcodes somewhere outside that one shortcode, so the fields would appear before or after that shortcode. Or you would have to use custom code with the WooCommerce API to manipulate the contents displayed inside that account shortcode.
- Nothing will restrict these files from being downloaded by other Users. If another User is able to guess the URL of that file, it can be downloaded without restriction.
Problem: Is it possible to limit a View's results to a certain distance based on the current User's role, established by purchasing a site registration package?
Solution: You can create 3 different Views with the different distance filters applied. You can use a shortcode attribute to set the distance center point, based on the User's profile address information. When a User buys a specific package, you can adjust his or her User role with Forms Commerce. Then based on the User's role, you can display one of those 3 Views with conditionals.
