[Gelöst] Taxonomy filter gets overidden by dropdown menues

Dieser Thread wurde gelöst. Hier ist eine Beschreibung des Problems und der Lösung.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user wanted to have a Dynamic Frontend filter and Static filter for a single taxonomy for the same view.

Solution:

If your taxonomy filter is set to filter the view by the current page then you won't be able to add a dropdown to that view in the event that the user wants to view something else.

This is because the filter has been set to static and it can only be static or dynamic. Dynamic meaning the view can be filtered by a url parameter using the dropdown filters.

I would suggest adding a link the page that would send the user to another page that has a dedicated dynamic filter view.

Tell us what you are trying to do?
We have project pages (portfolio entries) that show our services.
We would like to show related services below the current project.
If I create a view and filter the taxonomy based on the current page where the view is shown it works fine.

But I would also like a dropdown menue so the user can change his mind and select other services.
If I use the dropdown menu in the View it overides the filtering and always shows ALL services.

Am I doing something wrong?. Or can I pass the "tags, portfoliobranches and portfolio categories" to the dropdown, as a pre-selection?

Hi Michael,

Thank you for getting in touch.

Please let me know what you think of this suggestion.

Thanks,
Shane
