We have developed mutiple member plattforms. They work pretty good but we have the problem, that our members don't know whats happening inside the member area. We have several custom post types where our members can create content and discuss. But our job now is to notify them about what's happening inside so they stay up to date even if they don't log in regurarly.
Because the member area is not open for public, we have rss-feeds deactivated, therefore we can't use external services like Zapier or MailChimp as it seems. And we only want to send our members a weekly email about what has been going on inside the member area, so informing all users about every new post wouldn't be the ideal solution either.
Is there some tool or system that comes into your mind that might help us in our situation?
Toolset only offers email notifications attached to events, such as when a post is published, or when some custom field value changes after a post is edited.
While it should be possible to create a View that gathers together posts published in the last month, say, there's no way for you to trigger email notifications periodically where you would output that View, it's njust not a use-case that Toolset is intended for.
It sounds more like you want something like newsletter subscriptions or similar.
From the blurb of MailPoet (just acquired by Automattic) "Automatically send email updates to let subscribers know about your latest posts every day, week, or month, and bring them back to your website". That sounds like the kind of use case you are describing. versteckter Link
