I have a very elementary question to ask about Fields and Views when creating the template for the WordPress Archive using the Divi Builder.
When I open a new Text Module and click the Fields And Views link, the Fields, and Views shortcodes panel opens for me to select from. in my particular application, "Post data", "Taxonomy", and "User data" each have a link that refers to a featured image, but I am not sure which to select for the Text Module to display that image on the page.
I know how Taxonomy is created but not the Post data and User data. For example, I need to place a featured image, title with link and a WYSIWYG text block on a page. Without referring me to more documents links if possible, which shortcode category is correct to display this content?
It depends on the type of WordPress Archive. If you are creating a WordPress Archive that displays posts, then you should probably use the "Post featured image" in the "Post data" section. If you are creating a WordPress Archive that displays Users, then you should probably use the "User data" section. Like the names suggest, the information for these fields comes from either a post or a User.
Did I create the "Post Featured Image" link that appears in the Fields and Views shortcodes panel at some point or was it system generated by default?
Everything in the post data section (see the screenshot) is system-generated.
Based on that information, "Post featured image" in the "Post data" section is the logical option for my application.
In the Fields and Views shortcode panel, will the Fields And Views links selections for the content, specific to my site display, be selected from the Taxonomy category in the shortcodes panel and that I created for the project?
Hello, if you need to know how to do something specific other than insert a featured image in a WordPress Archive, please create a new ticket.
Can you tell me in this ticket if I would use the same "Post Featured Image" link to insert the same featured image in every content template OR is this just for the WordPress ARchive only?
Anywhere you want to display a post's featured image, you can use the Post Featured Image link to insert the featured image shortcode.
