Related to: Home Page View – Featured Product Display

On the Home page view for versteckter Link I have a Divi Fullwidth Module displaying a fullwidth image of the posted Featured Product displayed directly below it which product selection process is directly related to the previous support ticket.

The question is, how can I include the selection of the full-width image at the top of the page with that of the Featured Product below automatically so that the same product image posts in both locations on the Home Page?

Hi Charles,

I took a look at this one for you.

However I dont think this one will work, thats because i dont think you can add the view to the divi image cell.

Thanks,
Shane

I'm wondering if there is a misunderstanding. The full-width image that currently appears at the top of the page at versteckter Link is already a module that I added to the same view.

Why can a module for the full-width image be added to the view along with the modules that currently exist in the same view?

If in fact there is no way to enable auto field selection of a featured image using the top full-width module and home page view, as an option, would it be possible to create another view for the fullwidth display (use it as the landing page) and link it to the current home page view which would then become a second home page?

Can both views display identical:

{!{wpv-post-featured-image size="full" output="url"}!}

{!{wpv-post-title}!}

elements for the full-width landing and the home page?

Hi Charles,

What you can try y doing, it may or may not work.

We can get the url from the view only. What I want you to do is create an identical view as your featured view. However in that view you will only have [wpv-post-featured-image size="full" output="url"] within the wpv-loop tags

That view I want you to check the checkbox to disable the div wrapping.

Then add that view to your featured image divi section that has the full width.

Please try this and let me know the results.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

I duplicated the view currently used for the Homepage and renamed it Featured Image View.

I removed all modules from the view other than the Fullwidth Section with Fullwidth Header Module for the featured image.

I updated the Featured Image View and disabled the div wrapping.

This is where I begin to have confusion as I believe you are instructing me to at this point add a shortcode for the Featured Image View and place it inside the Divi Fullwidth Module at the top of the Homepage New Content template and directly above the Text Module that currently contains {!{wpv-view name="homepage-view"}!}

If these instructions are correct, I might not have a place to add the Toolset shortcode in the Didi Fullwidth Module and I do not know if a standard text module can display the Fullwidth image in the same way as the Fullwidth Header Module.

Can you please confirm if I had the instructions correctly and if you have any feedback.

Thank you for trying.

Hi Charles,

Yes you have followed it correctly.

Right now i believe you have a static image in the divi module.

You should just be able to add the view in the url section where you add the url for the image you want to display.

If this doesn't work would you mind if I logged in to see if its all setup as I imagine it ?

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Charles,

Doesn't seem like this is going to be possible.

Its actually because of how this header section is done.

It requires that the image actually be added to the module.
Thanks,
Shane

OK. Because you are about to enter weekend mode, you may not see any additional update on this for a couple of days.

I will contact Divi support to see if I can use another module with custom CSS to achieve a similar result. Basically, I need a module that will accept the Toolset shortcode and display it as a fullwidth header, correct?

Hi Charles,

They actually have an image module if I recall that accepts shortcodes for images.

Just that this one doesn't accept it so you will need to rebuild this interface manually if you want to use our views shortcode to have that image generate dynamically.

Thanks,
Shane

Using the Image module or text module might work as a replacement for the current fullwidth module.

#1191196

I disabled the fullwidth header module and added a fullwidth image module instead and I added the toolset shortcode as the image URL but nothing displays. Before I contact divi support can you take a look and see if the change to the fullwidth image module might work?

Essentially I'd like to confirm with you that the shortcode {!{wpv-view name="featured-image-view"}!} is the correct code to embed in the HOme page view?

I just noticed that the Loop item in Featured Image View still had the blank fullwidth header module which may be part of the problem. The has to be a module on the "Loop item" that produces a Toolset shortcode to place in a module on the Homepage New Content template?

Do both modules need to be the exact same type?

Hi Charles,

The image module is the one that is needed as you are using here.
versteckter Link

It seems that I was indeed correct that it's not able to process the view because checking on the clean view that only outputs the URL.
versteckter Link

Its not rendering the image.

Thanks,
Shane
