This is a known issue and here is a errata page for that:

Please try to follow above errata and see if you able to workaround it as shared in the comment added by another user.

So it seems a solution for the default TwentyTwentyThree theme.
Because I am using another block theme Spectra One, it is a bit more complex.

You can get in touch with Spectra theme support and check with them how you can use PHP template for your custom post type and they will guide you accordingly and if you have working solution, you're welcome to share here for the benefit of other users.

When does Toolset think they can fix the compatibility with FSE themes?

We already having a internal ticket and our Devs will try their best in order to provide compatibility with FSE theme(s).

However - Please note that there is no ETA on it.
