Toolset lets you add maps with markers to any page. You can style the map and choose where to place markers. In this lesson we teach how to create a „static map“ with one marker. Typically, you’ll include such maps on your „about us“ or „contact us“ pages.
Follow these steps
To use the Map block, you first need to choose your map provider. You can start using it with OpenStreetMap right away, but if you choose Google Maps or Azure Maps, you’ll need to register the API key first.
The Map block provides you with many options and ways to customize your maps. Use the options in the right sidebar to adjust all of the settings when you insert or edit a Map block.
Add a map marker
After inserting a Map block, you need to add markers to it by clicking the Add marker button.
Now you can add the address to your marker.
You can set different options for each marker. This includes changing the marker icon, adding content displayed when hovering or clicking a marker, and more.
Use custom map marker icons
Out-of-the-box, Toolset provides you with an array of map marker icons. You can also easily add your own custom ones.
Go to the Toolset → Settings page and click the Maps tab. There, look for the Map markers section and click the Add a new marker button.
We recommend using the following format:
- Use transparent PNG or SVG format so the map is visible underneath the marker icon.
- Use icons with dimensions of 32 x 32 pixels. This is the dimension we automatically resize the SVG markers to. We don’t scale other image format so if you use them, upload them in the exact size as you want them to appear on the map.
