The customer has two custom post types: "Providers" and "Offers," where each "Offer" is linked to a "Provider." After editing some Offers, they noticed that these Offers were no longer visible to the original Providers in their front-end accounts and appeared under the customer's admin account instead. The original Providers could no longer edit their Offers without accessing the WordPress backend. The customer wanted to know how to make the Offers appear again in the original creators' front-end accounts and whether it was possible to edit Offers from other Providers without changing the Offer ownership.
Solution:
When editing the posts in the backend, the post author was being overwritten with the current user (the customer's admin account). To prevent this, it was suggested to go to Toolset > Post Types, edit the "Offer" custom post type, and enable the "Post author" option in the Supports section. This change would allow setting the post author when editing, ensuring the original author remains unchanged, and maintaining proper ownership visibility on the front end.
The customer wanted to update their website locally using Toolset and then migrate it to the live environment. They encountered issues with Toolset recognizing the site due to the different URL during the migration, and later faced a problem where the site key did not match, blocking communication with Toolset servers.
Solution:
We advised the customer to mark the local site as a copy of the live site when prompted by Toolset. When the issue with the site key mismatch occurred, we recommended removing the old site key from the Toolset account, creating a new one, and registering Toolset again with the new key. This resolved the issue. We also suggested ensuring the correct URL format is used when generating the new key.
Problem:
The user would like to allow visitors to submit content and be able to add alt text and captions to images.
Solution:
When you "Allow Media Insert button in Post Content Rich Text Editor" when you create your Post Form, there will be a native WordPress Image upload screen where you can set those details just as used to in WordPress.
If you use a Types Image Custom Field, the uploader does not present those features and they would either need to be updated to the Attachment via a Custom PHP Script, using values coming from as example some "Single Line" Custom Types Fields, or, you would use the autogenerated values.
Both ways to upload images create a Post of type "attachment".
The different Meta-Data is stored as this:
Alt Text: uses the Post Meta Key _wp_attachment_image_alt
Caption: it's the actual Post Excerpt (Table column name post_excerpt)
Description: it's the actual Post Body (Table column name post_content)
Problem:
The user would like to have a confirmation message in the CRED delete links.
Solution:
You will need to use message_show='1' and then you can put your custom confirmation message in message argument and the success message in message_after.

Problem:
The user would like to restrict the backend for certain roles of users.
Solution:
This is out of the scope of Toolset plugins, none of the Toolset plugins offer this feature, even the Toolset Access plugin.
But you can achieve this by using a third-party plugin or by using custom code on your theme's functions.php file. Check the following pages and plugins:
