Problem:
A user asked how can he change the sorting direction labels for the default "order by" criteria.
Solution:
Suggested that to change the label of the default "order by" option, you'll need to add its option as well, under the "Sorting Options" section, as shown in the attached screenshot.

Edit the names of the default order dropdowns like the addional ordering options. Does this need to be done via a function or code? I can't see any editable options. Currently says 'Post type' 'Ascending'

To change the label of the default "order by" option ( in this case "Post type"), you can add its option under the "Sorting Options", as shown in the attached screenshot.
