Anyway I have a new question for you regarding my own business:
we are a film production company in Switzerland. We collect hundreds and thousands of locations and casting profiles a year. I would love to create some simple online directories and databases for them, so our employees, directors etc with a password can browse the entries online, click on the ones they like, create individual shortlists/collections and share these collections with others. and on the other hand: actors and location owners can access the frontend without logging in to enter their profile or location on their own and add it to the directory. There won't be many people accessing the page at the same time, but the database itself might be growing over the years quite alot

the final result does not have to have all this eye-candy. simple and clean could be enough.
Questions:
- would that be something that toolset could handle?
- which theme would you recommend to use with toolset?
- very important: are there any speed issues with mySQL and the toolset/wordpress architeture when building a database with let's say 10'000 entries including pictures and more? how long would an estimated search take for 10'000 entries?
- what do we have to do optimize the speed?
- how would you go about it? Could you give me a rough step-by-step outline so I can start to test?

If there are only few visitor per day in your website, you can consider shared host, if there are numbers visitor, you will consider dedicate host server.

Do you have any more references about how to basically set up the directory system with various views: List, Grid & Detail View - not just the map functionality? Sinde for the casting directory I would not need the map, but a slideshow and image galleries in the detail view and nice portraits in the grid overview.
Where can I find the best step by step guide to setup a similar directory with toolset?
