[Resuelto] Cannot select custom field source in Blocks Editor

Este hilo está resuelto. Aquí tiene una descripción del problema y la solución.

Problem:

I cannot select one of my posts of a CPT to use as the ‘demo’ data that gets displayed when editing in blocks mode.

Solution:

The issue was that the Content Template needed to be assigned to a specific Usage: either single page, etc. When I assigned it "Work" (one of my CPTs), I could then select a Work in the "View with" dropdown, and the correct custom fields for Work are now visible when editing dynamic fields.

I’m trying to use the blocks editor to create a content template. I usually use the classic editor, but thought I’d give the blocks editor a go. However, it’s frustrating. I have a problem selecting a custom field.

Firstly, I cannot select one of my posts of a CPT to use as the ‘demo’ data that gets displayed when editing in blocks mode. I can’t type in the title of the CPT in the ‘view with’ drop down - I only get a small selection of options, which is completely useless, because none of the options ever relate to the type of CPT that I’m designing the Content Template for. If I type in, for instance, a title of one of the CPTs I would like to use as the “view with”, it never finds it. This means that I can never see actual data from the actual CPT while I’m editing in blocks mode.

Secondly, when I try to try to select a custom field from the Field Source area on the right (after, for instance, adding a “single field” widget), I very often don’t see the custom field that I’m looking for in the drop down list. I assume it is because the currently selected post that I’m “viewing with” doesn’t have those custom fields, so I try to select “other post” in the field source, but I can also never find the post that I’m looking for in this drop down. Hence I can’t access the custom field that I’m trying to insert into the layout.

I’ve made numerous attempts at using the blocks editor since it came out and I always run into this issue, so end up reverting back to the classic editor.

Please let me know if these issues are bugs, or if there is something that I’m not doing correctly.

Hello,

The problem you mentioned above is abnormal, please check these:
1) Make sure you are using the latest version of Toolset plugins, you can download them here:
https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

2) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate all other plugins, and switch to wordpress default theme 2020, deactivate all custom PHP/JS code snippets, and test again

3) Clear your browser cache, or try with another browser, and test again

4) Also check if there is any PHP/JS error in your website:
