User form notifications not working

Problem: User form notifications don't seem to be working as expected. When I check with WP Mail Logging, I see error messages "Could not instantiate mail function" for all the emails sent by Toolset Forms. Other emails are sent without problems.

Solution: It appears that the server's mail function has some spam checks built-in, and short messages (like the test message here) are triggering the spam filter. Create a longer message and test again.

This support ticket is created hace 5 años, 4 meses. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

Hello,

I have a user form. I configured a notification to be send when a new user is created by this form. However, I don't recieve this notification.

I did some test. I sended a test email using this plugin: hidden link. This test worked properly. I sended a test email using the test tool that toolset have in the notifications options. I didn' receive this email. I logged both emails using this plugin: hidden link. You can see the result in the image attached. The test email sended with toolset have an error: "Could not instantiate mail function".

What's the problem?

I ran some tests and was able to verify the issue. Could you send me the php log for this site ? This could provide me with more information as to why the mail function isn't being instantiated by our plugin.

You can see that the problem is in functiones.php, in the method rmw_creación_iusuario. The toolset_connect_posts API is being called, but one of the posts is not a valid post. The toolset_connect_posts API is throwing an error to tell you something is wrong with this code. You should investigate here:

$cprofesional= $_POST["c-profesionales-user-form"];

It's possible this field is empty in the Form, or there is a typo in the slug, or some other problem that is causing the NULL value. If the field can be empty, you must add some logic that bypasses the toolset_connect_posts API call when the field is empty. Otherwise it will always throw an error.

As you see, no more error were caught related with "rmw_creación_iusuario".

The problem is still here. And have in mind that I don't need to use the form. My notifications are not sended even using the test tool inside the notifications options.

The staging site is still up so you can test it.

I installed the Duplicator plugin temporarily to create a clone of your staging site. When I installed it on my local environment, I ran several tests and I'm not seeing the same error message. So I would like to run a couple more tests on your staging site. Can you deactivate the must-use staging plugin in wp-content/mu-plugins/ ? Can you create a php info page on the server so I can see the PHP configurations? I'll be glad to do these myself if you will share FTP credentials.

Okay I think I see the issue. I modified the message in your email notification to be something longer than "Hola", and the error does not appear. The email is sent successfully. So it seems that the PHP mail function on your server has a spam check or some other filter applied that prevents certain spam-like messages. Your original message was simply "Hola", which somehow triggered that spam filter. I tested a few times with longer messages, and the results were all successful.
