Tell us what you are trying to do?
alter input in form with javascript. For example take the name and email and call quickchart.io to create a base64 qrcode and store it in the form. I am able to do that but then form is submitted it does not send the qrcode input value.

Is there any documentation that you are following? no

Given that it is a local setup, are you able to replicate this issue to a sandbox with fresh WordPress + Toolset install so we can debug this in there?

there is no option to create a Form.
I have created a Custom Post and Fields

i this sandbox the expert mode works. Also the expand to see details for every form field.
In my local distribution (LocalWP by flywheel) is not working.
