add placeholder text to filter search box

Problem:

The attribute "placeholder" of [wpv-filter-search-box] does not work.

Solution:

It is problem of old version of Toolset Views plugin, you can upgrade it to latest version and test again.

I am trying to: add the word "Search" to the search box

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: the text I entered

Instead, I got: nothing

According to the shortcode reference (https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/views-shortcodes/#vf-155460) there's an attribute for placeholder. It doesn't seem to work.

Hello,

I have tried the shortcode [wpv-filter-search-box placeholder="Search" output="bootstrap"] in my localhost with a fresh WordPress installation + the latest version of Toolset Views plugin, it works fine.

And you are using old version of Views plugin 2.3.1, it might conduct unexpected result.

I suggest you try these:
1) Backup your website first.
2) Upgrade to the latest version of Toolset plugins, and test again.

There isn't Types plugin in your website, the Toolset Automatic Installation requires Toolset Types plugin, see our document
https://toolset.com/faq/how-to-install-and-register-toolset/#automatic-installation-once-you-have-types-plugin-installed
section "Automatic Installation (once you have Types plugin installed)"

You can install Types plugin in your website, and follow above document to setup the site key, and test again.

What? That is so weird! The site was originally built with ACF and CPT UI, so I don't need Types. I have to install it just to have auto-update working? Yikes!

ACF is overall a stronger tool for custom field groups, so I prefer using it, and I'm surprised I have to install Types for such a basic function.

That is mentioned in our document, you can also upgrade Views plugin manually.

Still, it's an odd choice to make. I don't mind updating manually, but not having the expected notice in WordPress isn't terribly user-friendly.
