Require the Location Field, if it’s empty and a distance is submitted to the search query

Problem: Assume a View, where we display a Maps with Markers. When we use this Search, the "intuitive" workflow is to first enter a "distance from" value. This is fine as long the View is not updated by AJAX. But, we did not yet enter a "Location"! Solution: Toolset does not have a sense of "combined" filter controls. This means that the sentence "AJAX results update when visitors change any filter values" means literally that: when any control changes its value. That works for the distance and also for the location. We might be able to introduce such a concept, but it will demand time and planning. We suggest adding your voice for this feature to https://toolset.com/home/contact-us/suggest-a-new-feature-for-toolset/ |

Let the user search an address

Problem: I've set up a map to display locations via their address field, working fine. Users can filter the map data using a form with filter. I'd like to add one more filter/search field allowing the user to enter an address for positioning the map focus, on a particular zoom level, rather than filtering objects. How can that be achieved? Example: - no locations match this term (no title like 'london') - show a map centered on 'London', eventually showing a marker labelled 'London' Is there any way to achieve the desired results? Solution: In the latest version of Toolset map plugin, there is distance filter feature, our document: Relevant Documentation: |

Display a marker at the location entered as «distance search center»

ProblemHow can I produce a map, with the address as the centre of the map (if there are no results) which the user gave as his location?. SolutionTo display the address that the user gave as "his centre", you can listen to the URL parameter `toolset_maps_distance_center`. It results in a ShortCode like this: //Render the Map [wpv-map-render map_id="map-UNIQUE!!"][/wpv-map-render] //Render the marker with address the center given [wpv-map-marker map_id="map-UNIQUE!!" marker_id="marker-UNIQUE!!" address="[wpv-search-term param='toolset_maps_distance_center']"][/wpv-map-marker] ==> Adapt UNIQUE!! to unique IDs Relevant Documentationhttps://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/views-shortcodes/#wpv-search-term |
