Hello,

I have CPT's:
Track - Alias (one to many)
Alias - intermediary - Pitch (many to many)

In the BACKEND of the "Pitch" CPT editor, when connecting an Alias to it, is there any way to show the relationship between the Alias and it's Track parent in the dropdown?

Something like, in the dropdown, (while in the "Pitch" CPT) "Alias XYZ belongs to Track XYZ"

Thank you!!

Hello,

Unfortunately, there isn't such a feature within Types plugin, for example:
in the relationship you mentioned above: Alias - intermediary - Pitch (many to many)
The intermediary post type is "Alias-to-Pitchses".

Wne you edit a "Pitch" post, when connecting an Alias to it, you are creating the "Alias-to-Pitchses" posts, which are not related to "Track" post directly.

So it will need custom codes, but as you can see: we are developing the new many-to-many relationships, so it is not recommended to apply such kind of custom codes within old version of Types plugin, it will conduct other unexpected result when you upgrade to the future version of Types plugin.

Thank you Lou,

Looking forward to new version.
Just to be clear, the Track to Alias connection has already been made previously.
So "Alias XYZ" already belongs to "Track ABC".
So one can't show this relationship in the drop down of the Alias when making the Alias to Pitch connection in the "Alias-to-Pitches" post?

Thank you!

Yes, you are right, it is not possible to show "Track" post information in drop down of the Alias when you create/edit a "Alias-to-Pitches" post.

As I mentioned above, it might be possible with some custom codes, but currently, the new many-to-many relationship feature is still in beta status, there are lots of uncertain factors, I suggest you wait for the stable version Toolset plugins with new many-to-many relationship, then create thread for it.
