I am trying to use the poster="" parameter in the types video field to specify a poster frame for the video, but I can't get it to work.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:
enlace oculto

I expected to see:
playable video

Instead, I got:
no play button, only poster frame.

If I remove the code, the video plays, but only shows the first frame of the movie.

Thanks for your help!

The password for this user seems incorrect.
Can you revise it?

The ShortCode for the Video field itself works properly on my local test.

I used an MP4 Video, uploaded to WordPress in a Types Video Field, and then display it in a Text and Fields using ShortCodes like so:

[types field='video-ba82ffcc' poster='url-to-my-image'][/types]

url-to-my-image is the file url of my Image I uploaded as poster, to the WordPress Media.

However, using the Block as provided by Toolset (Video Block), you can do that all without ever touching a ShortCode.
You'd insert the Vide Block and then add a Poster Image in the Inspector settings of the Block.
This will display the Poster Image with play controls on the front end.

If this does not work on your end it might be due to the Video Format, or other software.

==> The Video Field is basically a re-implementation of https://wordpress.org/support/article/video-shortcode/, which seems to support only mp4, m4v, webm, ogv, wmv, flv (not mov, for example).
==> Other software interference could be spotted by testing only with Toolset and a native WordPress Theme - on either a staging site or after a good backup on the live site

I've also re-enabled a private reply in case you will need to share new access data.

I have updated the credentials and your login should work now.
Thx for checking what is wrong...

I see some PHP errors on your site.

Notice: register_taxonomy was called incorrectly. The "status" taxonomy "name" property (status) conflicts with an existing property on the REST API Posts Controller. Specify a custom "rest_base" when registering the taxonomy to avoid this error. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. (This message was added in version 5.4.0.) in /var/www/vhosts/stories.ch/tools.stories.ch/wp-includes/functions.php on line 5167

This should be due to taxonomy with slug status.
I don't think it's related but worth looking into it.

Related to the issue, I created a new post (new director) here, but there is no Video field so far on that post
enlace oculto
There's a single line field named Relationship Director Movie, but that's not a Video field.

Where to do I upload a test video? We would need a Types Video field for this to work.
Then, we could add it as a block to a Content Template, which would avoid you to have it inserted in every single Director.

Hey Beda, thx. Here's the page where you can see uploaded videos attached to the director and it is not working:
enlace oculto

To upload a new test movie go here:
enlace oculto

to create a new test director go here (click plus sign at top):
enlace oculto

navigate to the new director here:
enlace oculto

Then attach the new movie to a new director on a single page like this one here (select movie from dropdown at bottom right 'attach movie':
enlace oculto

Hope this helps.
The single page is built with an elementor page and a views widget, but I don't think it's connected to that.

Since, go here:
enlace oculto

this was entirely built with toolset and the toolset video widgets etc and it also does not show the poster frame:

Thx for your help!

There are, as mentioned earlier, no Video fields on that post type, neither when you create a new or when you look at the existing one you linked.

I see how you use a Post Relationship, not a Post Field.
This is not the same as above exampled, but it should still work as we can choose the field source (another post by relationship)
I think the field "Movie Clip" is the one you want to display, but it's of the related post type Movies

Then again in this Post, there is no output made for that field. the post Body is empty, and you usee no Blocks or Content Templates.
Hence the insertion and display of those items are made elsewhere, and you'd have to ask that Plugins how to display things the way you require (if it is Elementor, for example)

However, I am not sure that will work in Elementor's dynamic inputs, as this is a Post Relationship, which you usually can display data of only using Toolset.

Cany you confirm you insert both Video and Image with Elementor? Even if it is thru a ShortCode of Toolset, this can interfere and eventually break.

I can show you how to build this with Blocks, as mentioned before, or Views, but with Elementor it would be best to consult Elementor Support.
Are you using an Elementor Template here? Because I was not able to spot any Elementor items on the post itself either.

I suggest using only Blocks, but if you require Elementor, and think the issue happens due to Toolset, I can also try according to instructions to replicate this, if you can outline the precise steps you take

It must be in fact related to Elementor because this works just fine on any other install I tried - but those do not use Elementor, instead, they use Blocks or Views (classic) only.

Thanks!
