I am trying to: edit posts (custom post type) without losing Layouts assignments.

Instead, I got:
After last plugin update (Layouts 2.3) posts are losing Layouts assignments even if we use Content layout editor inside the post.

Hi there

This sounds like something that has come up in the past, but I don't see any current reports of it.

I think it would help if I could look at your site and see for myself, and then take a copy if needed that we can test locally.

Let me mark your next reply as private so that I can get log-in credentials from you—you may want to create a temporary admin user for me to use that you can later delete. And be sure to have a current backup of your site, even though I don't intend to make any changes other than to temporarily add a backup plugin to take a snapshot of the site.

Can you also confirm a page where I can see the problem. Which CPT should I edit a post of?

I edited that post, added a "testing" tag, and updated.

As you can see the Layout is still assigned.

Is there something specific I need to edit before updating for the Layout to be lost?

If you do the same as I just did, add a new tag and update, is the Layout lost?

Hi Nigel, adding a tag does not edit the layout. To see the problem you should "Edit with Layouts" and add or change some content and "Save and close".

OK, it is required to edit the content specifically. I can see that on your site, but I cannot reproduce the same on a local test site.

I tried switching theme and disabling all non-Toolset plugins to check for conflicts, but nothing changed.

So I'm taking a copy of your site so that it can be installed and tested locally.

I'm escalating this thread to my colleagues, and I'll update you when there is something to report.

Hi Nigel, how long it will take? This problem has slowed our workflow.
Thanks for the information, Petr

Hi Petr

The issue has been identified and fixed by the developers. I've asked whether we have a Layouts update soon, and if not if we can get a patch that you could use on your site in the meantime.

I'll update you again soon.

Sorry, this is another ticket where the issue should have been resolved with an earlier Layouts release (we also published Layouts 2.4.3 today), but if you still see problems let me know.

Sorry for the late reply.
