Can I get details of how you are generating the pages where these screenshots were taken?
If you add a post excerpt to a template using the wpv-post-excerpt shortcode it will simply insert the text of the excerpt, so I suspect this is coming from your theme, but I need to know how it is created.
I use my theme's pagebuilder to create the Posts. I am using X Theme and Cornerstone.
The URL the displays the excerpts: enlace oculto
Maybe it's possible to give each element a class and then use that class to disregard in the excerpt? More than happy to grant access as this site is under development and not live.
I think we're in different timezones so let me catch you now to get site credentials from you so that I have them why I start work in the morning, and I can hopefully identify and resolve the problem straightaway so we don't lose too much time back- and forth-ing.
I will mark your next reply as private so that I can get log-in credentials from you—you may want to create a temporary admin user for me to use that you can later delete. And be sure to have a current backup of your site, even though I don't intend to make any changes other than—possibly—to temporarily add a backup plugin to take a snapshot of the site if I need to do some testing.
I looked and saw that the issue was only with "Article Test 3", the other posts didn't have the same problem.
I can't account for what is different with that post than with the other two posts.
However, I would say that it is not entirely unexpected.
You are designing each individual post with the page builder (Cornerstone), which means that a lot gets added to the post content by the page builder besides the actual text content of the post itself.
When you insert the excerpt using wpv-post-excerpt, that simply uses the built-in WP function the_excerpt() to retrieve or generate the excerpt.
Retrieve if a post excerpt has been explicitly added, generate automatically from the post content if not. When the post content contains a lot more than just the post content text I wouldn't be surprised if the process generates unexpected text.
To avoid this problem I suggest that you add manual post excerpts. You'll need to use the Screen Option tab at the top of the page to expose the post excerpt metabox on the post edit screens. Then you can add the required text. I did this with the problem article and my manual excerpt now appears as expected on the front end.
We don't currently support using Cornerstone to design Content Templates but it is on our to-do list. When that becomes available, you won't have to design each post with Cornerstone, you will be able to simply add the desired text in the individual posts and use the template to create the design to be used on all posts.
I don't believe so. It is normal practice to list articles with excerpts that lead to the full article, and you will be linking directly from one to the other, it is not like you will have duplicate content on different sites.
