After updating CRED to 1.9.4 my site was totally down with error message:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_OBJECT_OPERATOR in .../wp-content/plugins/cred-frontend-editor/application/controllers/main.php on line 102

I have read this thread but could not resolve the issue: https://toolset.com/forums/topic/cant-activate-cred-because-of-an-error-on-line-102/

I have switched to TwentySixteen theme and same error.

I am on the latest version of WP 4.9.2. I had to restore the entire database from the backend as navigation is not possible when the site was broken.

Any help? See screenshot for code snip.

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Well - I see you are using old PHP version. Could you please update your PHP version to 7.

As you can see with the following link - Even WordPress also recommends to use latest PHP version:
=> https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/

Is there a way to change the version of my test site (only) to php7? I can change it at the hosting level but that will impact all the sites on this domain and it's too much a risk before i really test it out.

Thanks.
