I am currently doing an appraisal of the Bricks Builder using on of their playgrounds. Before I commit to purchasing I want to check in with Toolset to see if there are any known issues, specifically to adding templates and views with shorcodes to a layout made with Bricks?
Also, in Bricks the interface doesn't provide any thing to access the Toolset shortcodes. Of course we can access the field values through the dynamic system provided by Bricks so in this instance I am talking about the shorcodes for view and templates. I add the images to show one option that is available via the regular WordPress editor. I note that more and more in places like page builders that easy access to shortcodes is getting more difficult, rquiring awkward workarounds to a WordPress editor to get them there. This needs to be addressed.
There aren't any reported issues between Toolset and Bricks, though I don't know if anyone has tried using them together.
It looks like Bricks disables the admin toolbar, which hides the UI for inserting Toolset shortcodes.
I don't see a way around that, I'm afraid, other than having a separate tab open to a page with the traditional editor so that you can generate shortcodes there and then copy and paste them into the page or template being created with Bricks.
I had a quick look through Bricks forums and while some were having some issues a while back these were minor or down to user error. Technically it shoud work. I have done some crazy setups with Divi in the past and they always ended up working.
I just realised what it is regarding the Toolset Fields and Views panel that pops up when you click Toolset Shortcodes in the top menu bar. When in a Template this panel doesn't show the shortcodes for Templates, or the one your in at leasr. I presume the same applies if you are in a view editor, the shortcodes for views aren't in the panel.
What would be good is for these shortcodes to appear every where so when creating a View or Template these can be grabbed, more conveniently than having to navigate elsewhere to get them.
