Hi,

I have a problem on this site regarding the URL toolset generates:

These pages are able to be loaded (they don't 404 when visited). Can these be made to 404 since they aren't actually real resources on the site?

enlace oculto. You can change the number after /page to ANYTHING (as seen above, changed it to page 1250) and it will load the page without 404ing. Even though there isn't a page 1250.

Also getting a "soft 404" error in our Google Search Console.

Any way to force 404 for pages that don't exist? (like page 3, page 4, and page 1250 above...apparently you can put any page number in and it loads instead of 404ing).

Reason it's blank and looks like a 404 is because there isn't anything on page 1250.

Hi David,

Could you try resetting the permalinks as this could be why its not working.

First go to Settings -> Permalinks and then change it to use the default permalinks.

Go to the page on the frontend and see if it works with the default permalinks .

If it does then just go back to the permalinks settings and set it to postname and let me know if this helps.

Thanks,
Shane

Yes, when resetting the permalinks, seems to work. But my site uses the post-name permalink structure.

Hi David,

You can set it back to postname and it should help.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi,

This seems to be the issue here:

How can I resolve it, I've change the message to be displayed to a "404 Page not found", but doesn't seem to be fixing the problem.
