Types, Views, Layouts, and Forms.
This was our first major site using the Toolset plugin suite. We had previously utilized Types as a convenient way to handle custom posts and taxonomies. In the end, we were very happy with the way the site came together behind the scenes.
This particular site build for VEDP had a large number of repeating elements for about 12 different custom post types, a members area, custom profiles, members only content, a forum, large taxonomies, tons of relational content linking, syndicated content, many different customized displays, a large number of custom post fields, and customized searching.
Types, Views and Layouts were all instrumental in being able to create elements of the site once and use them multiple times. We have no apprehension about doing custom coding, but found the using the Toolset suite allowed us to focus only on having to write up the custom behavior without having to spend time with the more mundane field handling, page building, dynamic areas, or URL mapping.
We will definitely utilize the Toolset extensions on our next project.
