I've just re-themed a site that uses the Shopp plugin, i've added types & views to extend the functionality of the site, however on the shopp product pages, the views slider in the footer breaks.

Instead of the views content being displayed in the slider, the shopp content is displayed in the slider.

Is there any way to overcome this?

Perhaps you could try to include the View via PHP:

Does that solve the issue?

It appears to me, that you are running a eCommerce site.
For this we recommend a combination of Toolset, WooCommerce and WooCommerce Views.

I am fully aware what I am about to suggest involves a lot of work on your part however, because right now we have the most complete support for e-commerce via WooCommerce, what I can suggest is to encourage you to consider migrating your site to WooCommerce.

By no means we at Toolset are suggesting that 'WooCommerce is the best e-commerce plugin for WordPress'.
It is simply the fact that this happens to be the one plugin currently best integrated to work with Toolset using “WooCommerce Views”.

Please do not let the migration process scare you away.
ALL e-commerce plugins use custom post types for products and custom taxonomy for product categories. So switching to WooCommerce is not an impossible process.
You may need to enlist the assistance of a developer if you prefer. You can find a list of contacts here:

You will get the custom assistance you need to get on with your project.

Should you decide to go ahead be assured that your effort is not going to go to waste. We have a team of excellent developers working on WooCommerce Views full time.

On the other hand, if you prefer to proceed with Shopp Plugin, and the issue can't be solved by my first suggestion, I would need a sites snapshot if possible.
We usually recommend the free Plugin "Duplicator" for this porpoise.

If you already know how Duplicator works
please skip the following steps and just send me the installer file and the zipped package you downloaded.

Send me both files (you probably want to use DropBox, Google Drive, or similar services, as the snapshot file will be quite big)

Remember to create or keep an admin account for me before creating the snapshot, or I won't be able to login. You may delete the new admin account once the snapshot has been built.

I will enable your next answer as private so you can provide me the information securely.

Please don't hesitate to inform me in case the issue persists and could you provide me the additional Infos as well permit me to perform the required steps?

Thank you

Yes, Shopp is an average plugin. I don't have the luxury of moving to WooCommerce on this project however. I've just had to disabled views entirely on the pages that shopp runs on.

Thanks for the Details

Let's see if we can solve this in another way.

Could you elaborate what content you are sliding with Views and if:
- only the Views Slider breaks,
- or all kind of Loop created with Views breaks on pages with Shopp Content?

You could also try to insert the View by PHP instead of using short-codes:

Could you send me a link to the Shopp Plugin Download's page, and a Database Dump of your system?

This way I can replicate the issue locally and try to find a workaround for it.

Please could you provide me the additional Infos?

Thank you

I was using a views slider, but Shopp breaks anything using WP Query. I tried several other plugins and they all broke in the same way, Shopp overrides any WP Query being run on the page. Probably more of a Shopp issue than a Views issue but still would be good to have a work around.

Thanks for the Details

I see this is a issue with Shopp Plugin, specially if it, as you state, overrides any WP Query also of other Plugins.

I can not solve the issue if the Plugin is somehow overriding the Query of Views, as we are using WordPress Default API and there are no planes to change this.

I would suggest to contact the Plugin's author and ask them about this issue.

It seems strange to me that such a professional plugin overwrites Queries of other Plugins.

I would like to help you to solve this, but it seems to me the problem is not within our code, since other Plugins also present the same issues when used with Shopp.

Please let me know if you have further questions regarding the issue mentioned in this Thread

Thank you
