I want to use a custom field (listing-text) to populate the post_content field, when a user creates a new Listing using the Toolset form. I tried the code posted in another help topic (https://toolset.com/forums/topic/use-types-field-but-save-result-in-excerpt-post-body/), but I can't get it to work.

I'm not using Excerpts, so there's no need to populate that field.

Hi Ed,

Thank you for getting in touch.

Not sure why you would want to copy the content to the post body field when you can add the field's content directly to the post body without the user's populating the custom field.

Can you provide a little more information on this one ?

Thanks,
Shane

Well, Shane, you see...I'm stupid and I like to set things up the wrong way, first, then get frustrated fixing the mess I've made.

I think I had a reason to do it this way. It escapes me.

Don't waste too much time on this. I'm probably going to end up changing it back (to the right way).

Hi Ed,

No worries, I would highly recommend doing it the correct way by placing the content in the post content area directly. This will help to declutter the database and not have duplicate content on your website in the event that you decide to display this content and the post content area.

Thanks,
Shane
