I am trying to: keep both my Utility Bar and my Secondary menu - as with the footer I have a fat footer and a footer and only my first footer shows.
I'm using Dynamik as a Genesis child theme so maybe this is the issue.
The first picture shows a menu in the title bar to the right, which I lose (see second image that uses a layout). Footer I also have an extra line with copyright info in it etc, which again I lose.
Many thanks for any help.
Dear lindsay,
Are you layouts to setup the Utility Bar and Secondary menu?
Have you tried deactivate other plugins and switch theme to Genesis parent theme?
We need check if it is a compatibility problem between your custom theme files and Layouts plugin.
No (not quite sure what you mean here), I added the Utility Bar and Secondary menu in my child theme.
I'm only using Limit Login Attempts besides your plugins currently.... temporarily disabled but made no difference.
If I change the theme I will of course lose the Utility Bar, as it's part of my child theme?
Many thanks for any help.
This seemed idea, to create a 'parent' but nowhere can I see how to do that? https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/hierarchical-layouts/
I've added the menu in layout now... but still an issue... see between the two images attached.
The 'firefox' image (correct but without layouts) shows the site-container > site header.
Note: the Utility Bar is above the site-container so is fine in both with and without layouts.
The second image where I've added the menu via layouts, is buried in the HTML.
Maybe in my child theme I need to move the header above the site-container as the Utility Bar is fine? Any pointers gratefully received.
OK, after a lot of fiddling in my theme had to move the header and footer outside of the main site container... I guess your genesis layout only modifies the centre of the page and ignores headers and footers, I can't see where you'd create a parent hierarchy? Anyway seems to have resolved.
