Well - you must misunderstood the layouts here. Layouts is basically a container (page builder) using which you can restructure your content area (body part) by adding multiple rows/columns.

You can add your desired cells to your layout (as we already did for example - content template cell).

For example - You want to display image, view and CRED form each with new row with your single post. So, basically, you should create layout, add three rows and add image cell, views cell and cred cell to display image, view and cred form respectively and assign this layout to your single post.

You can find all required Doc to understand Layouts with the following link:
=> https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/#layouts

If you want to play more with layouts, you may use our test platform discover-wp.com and create a test site with our available reference site which uses Layouts plugin and play with them and understand how layouts works.

I think I understand, I am just wondering how would I use layouts to position individual Post Fields. That way I can use the Cells and Rows

To position your fields you can edit your content template and display it as per your need.

I think following Doc will help you:

Well - that would be the theme CSS conflict or any other plugin CSS conflict with your theme.

Here is our recommended themes to use with Layouts:

I have managed to figure out how to add fields directly into layouts and i think this will work just perfectly.
