I am trying to:
Output categories in a view (via layouts)

I visited this URL:
hidden link

I expected to see:
Categories as part of View.

Instead, I got:
The first two items of the View do not render results, though items 3+ do. The categories do display in the detail View and of course in the admin.

Hi Chris

As I'm sure you are aware by now, the first thing I would need to do in a (pretty odd) situation like this is to see whether the problem can be reproduced with a minimal set-up.

Could you please verify whether it persists if you switch to twentysixteen and disable all non-Toolset plugins, and then report back with the results?

Thanks.

Very odd indeed and sure:

Persists with 2016. Note that my regular theme is "Toolset Starter".
Persists with no plugins but the Toolset plugins.

Note that I have a other layouts/views that are basically identical except for the custom content type that work fine. (e.g. hidden link)

I'd be happy to provide you an admin login on the staging server. The host, in case it matters is WPEngine, but their staging environment doesn't do any caching, so I doubt that's the issue. This Layout/View does however work on my development VPS with a LEMP setup (hidden link). Which just leads me to more head scratching.

OK, can I get credentials from you to make a duplicate of the site so that I can test it locally on another server environment?

One question. It's not always the same two posts is it? If you change the sort order in your view so that a different two posts appear first, it is still the first two posts missing the tags?

Your next reply is private.

I reversed the order and it was those two!

Noodled around and found the bug -- of my own creation. Thanks for the help with breaking it down.
