Cannot update Views 1.10 to 1.10.1

Problem:
While Updating Toolset Plugins, you get this error:

Download failed. SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed

Solution:
Update to at least PHP 5.4
WordPress now recommends PHP 5.6 and this is the recommended PHP version for Toolset too.

This support ticket is created Il y a 8 années. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

I am trying to update Views from 1.10 to 1.10.1 via the WordPress dashboard.

I get this:
An error occurred while updating WP Views: Download failed. SSL certificate problem, verify that the CA cert is OK. Details: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed

I'm seeing this on two separate sites that I have Views installed on.

I would need as much details as possible:

1. Browser you are using
2. OS you are using
3. Does it happen on all ISP's?

As DEV team requested, I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site
- preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible -
in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed

Your next answer will be private which means only you and I have access to it.

❌ Please backup your database and website ❌

✙ I would additionally need your permission to de- and re-activate Plugins and the Theme, and to change configurations on the site.
This is also a reason the backup is really important

The issue is resolved.

My hosting support dude resolved this within half an hour of my email 🙂
This is what he said:

I updated the PHP version on both domains to 5.4, which has an updated root certificate.
Any version from 5.4 onwards should not present this issue.
---------------------------------

I hope this helps someone else experiencing the same issue.

I apologize the delay here.

WordPress recommends PHP 5.6 and I would recommend to contact your server Admin to gently ask if a update would be possible, to PHP 5.6
