Best route for building a product review site?

This is the community support forum for Types plugin, which is part of Toolset. Toolset is a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients and people who registered for Types community support can post in it.

I'm looking to build a small product reviews site with Toolset using the Avada theme, both with author reviews and member reviews. I would also like to post affiliate links to shops who carry each product - each product could potentially have multiple affiliate links.

My question is, would it be best to use Woocommerce as a starting point for this or try and create all of the custom post types from scratch (product, review, affiliate, affiliate link, etc)? Seems Woocommerce will have most of the product related and review functionality built in to it already. But I don't know if I'll run into trouble going that route.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dear chris,

It depends on yourself, if you are going to build them within Toolset, you will need to setup all system from scratch, If you need existed plugin, here are some examples:
Affiliates WooCommerce

there is a built-in feature review system within Woocommerce plugin, and there are lots of other review plugin for Woocommerce, for example:

The Affiliates plugin is actually for retailers looking to pay commissions to their affiliates (I would be the affiliate in this case). I will be sending people to the retailers. What I need would be this one:
https://woocommerce.com/products/product-retailers/

Hadn't seen that one before. I think maybe I'll try using Woocommerce to build this out.
