We don't want location radius to be a required filter

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

can the location search itself be optional? Right now it requires a location in order to search at all.

Solution:

There isn't such a built-in feature to make location radius optional, but you can use some CSS codes to hide the location radius fields

Tell us what you are trying to do?
We are trying to make a page that searches through a custom type called an Event. We'd like to be able to search the events by date, category and location. Right now, our filter is requiring us to put a location radius in. Is there a way to make that optional?

Is there any documentation that you are following?
We've looked at the Views documentation.

Is there a similar example that we can see?

I think what I meant to ask was, can the location search itself be optional? Right now it requires a location in order to search at all. We don't mind the radius field, but we'd like to be able to do a global search without putting in any data in the location field.
