View is not respecting YEAR when displaying in ascend. order by DATE cust. field

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
Can not display Posts in ascending order by custom field DATE.

Solution:
Post Types Order plugin was breaking the View’s ordering. Deactivating Post Types Order plugin resolved the issue.

This support ticket is created 7 years, 1 month ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

I am trying to: Display RETREAT post type in sccending order by custom field DATE

I expected to see: post listing in ascending order by date that includes YEAR

Instead, I got: post listing in ascending order by month, but doesn't respect YEAR

Hopefully the above is self-explanatory. This has been happening on and off for years in fact. I cannot figure out why sometimes it's OK and other times it's not. Hopefully you can point me in the right direction to resolve this problem. It's quite important as even though I am sending you to a staging site link, the page is also live.

Hi Noman,

You are correct - the issue is resolved on this site when you disable the Post Types Order plugin.

What a shame. On this site I can find a workaround and am fine with disabling that plugin, but on other sites that plugin is so helpful.

Anyway, thanks for figuring that out 🙂
