I am trying to: Allow visitors to a funeral home site post comments on each obituary.

I've tried a few guestbook plugins and they just haven't worked properly. One that was great doesn't post guest postings per each post -- just in general.

has anyone ever used CRED to set up a form like this and then associate the submissions to a CPT that can be formatted and displayed in a view after approval?

Hi Chris

You could set up something like a condolences CPT and use a CRED form to generate them and once approved display these below the obituary using a View.

But why not just use comments? If you edit your CPT at Toolset > Post Types and scroll down to the "Sections to display..." box you can turn on comments for the obituary post type.

Is there a reason not to use that? (Possibly with improved comments using another plugin, such as Jetpack?)

yeah i've considered using comments --- and will revisit that idea after the holiday. My big thing is that they need to appear in a specific tab on the page but i guess i can just insert the comment php there.
