Hi there,

I am getting an SSL Certificate error when trying to update Types plugins on my site (please see attached image).

Could you suggest a possible solution or what the problem might be?

Many thanks

May I ask if this happens on all kind of Browsers and OS's?

I can update correctly on my localhost using Firefox, and also on online sites we did not have such issues lately.

the information on what browser and OS you use would useful.
Also it would be good to know if that happens on other ISP's too.

To quickly solve this, you can also update manually:

❌ Backup your website and database ❌
• Deactivate/Delete the "Installer" plugin (if you have it)
• Deactivate all Toolset plugins
• Login via FTP to your wp-content/plugins folder
• Delete all Toolset Plugins folders
• Go to and download the latest stable Types Plugin, then extract it.
• Upload the plugin via FTP to the wp-content/plugins folder.
⌥ alternatively you could upload the .zip file using Dashboard > Plugins > New > Upload
• Register the Plugin for your site
⌥ you can do that under Dashboard > Types > Settings > Types Tools > Installer
• Download all other needed Plugins
• Activate them in Dashboard > Plugins
This should not generate any problems.

⌥ In case you want to register Toolset Plugins for your site manually please make sure to enter the naked URL of your site in (something like hidden link)

⌥ In the extreme case, please try to register with all non-Toolset Plugins deactivated,
and Theme Toolset Bootstrap enabled.

Please could you provide me the additional Infos?

Thank you for your patience.

As DEV team requested, I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site
- preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible -
in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed

Your next answer will be private which means only you and I have access to it.

❌ Please backup your database and website ❌

✙ I would additionally need your permission to de- and re-activate Plugins and the Theme, and to change configurations on the site.
This is also a reason the backup is really important

Please could you provide me the additional Infos?

Thank you for your patience.

I apologize the delay here

As this user reports, updating to PHP 5.4 solved the issue.
Also, WordPress now recommends PHP 5.6 and I would recommend to contact your server Admin to gently ask if a update would be possible (if you are not already running a newer version)

Please don't hesitate to inform me in case the issue persists

Thank you for your patience.
