I have been using a custom taxonomy of "ministry categories", that I would like to include/import into the Event Manager Plug-In so that these categories can be available site-wide. The end goal is to be able to display event data filtered by this taxonomy. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Hi, there are several plugins with names like "Event Manager", can you show me a link to the correct plugin on https://wordpress.org/plugins ?

Sure. The plug-in I am using is here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/events-manager/

Thanks!

Okay please go to Toolset > Taxonomies and edit the Ministry Categories taxonomy. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will be able to see "Post types to be used with this taxonomy". Check the "Events" post type, and save the taxonomy. Now you can edit any Event post and add any of the Ministry Categories terms. You can also create Views of Events, filtered by this taxonomy. Let me know if you have questions about that.

I already have the events & recurring events post type enabled for this post type. I tried disabling it and re-enabling it without any change in result. I'm not sure why its not displaying correctly.

My issue is resolved now. Thank you!

Quick follow-up. Any insight into why after i enable and assign ministry category (along with the built-in 'campus' category), that every event now shows on all calendars? It seems by selecting a 'ministry category' the event shows on all ical feeds.

Thanks!

I'm not very familiar with this plugin, so I'm not sure. I did a quick search in their support forums and found this link related to additional custom taxonomies: https://wp-events-plugin.com/tutorials/using-additional-custom-taxonomies/

If you need any information from me to help facilitate a conversation with their support team, please let me know.
