Tell us what you are trying to do?

I'm trying to create a view with a text box that searches by Post ID

Is there any documentation that you are following?

https://toolset.com/forums/topic/how-to-search-byfor-id/

I understand the the above documentation's principle and can set up a filter but I don't understand how a text search box is then created? Perhaps I'm being thick but any clarification would be great!

Cheers
Ed

Dear Ed,

In the thread you mentioned above, it mentioned a text input search box using below HTML codes:

<input type="text" value="" name="author-filter" palceholder="Author ID">

You can put it into the search form of your post view, for example, in section "Search and Pagination", within shortcodes [wpv-filter-controls][/wpv-filter-controls]
