Hi there

I`ve got Revolution Slider Version 4.0.5 installed on a blog that`s running the latest version of WP and using the latest version of the WP 2013 theme.

Types, Views and Revolution Slider are the only plugins active on the site.

Anyway Revolution Slider supports CPTs and custom fields but it does seem to `recognize` the custom fields created with WP Types.

It does work with regular custom fields (created within the WP editor) but not any of the custom fields I`ve created with WP Types.

Here`s the snippet that pulls the custom field into the slider: %meta:somemetatag%

They say it supports any custom meta tag.

Any assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Dawson

Dear dbarber,

I’ll send you a private email right now asking you for some private information that will help me debug this issue for you. Please check your email in a couple of minutes, and if you don’t get it, let me know so I can send it again.

Hi Adriano

I was in touch the with ThemePunch (Rev Slider developers) over the weekend and they identified and addressed the issue on the site I had problems with.

They plan to address the issue in the next plugin update but, in the meantime, I have asked them for details on what they did to address the issue and will share the details here when I get them (so I'm opting to keep this open for the time being).

Many thanks

Dawson

Dear dbarber,

Great, it is not a problem. I will let it open so. When you have some new info, feel free to reply this ticket.

It turns out that it had something to do with regular expressions (the full explanation was over my head).

In any case, they are updating the plugin in a day or two and the issue will be addressed (they've updated it on my site and it's working), so Rev Slider will be able to properly output custom fields.

Cheers

Hi Dawson - I have the exact same problem! On a site that needs to launch on Sunday! As ThemePunch don't seem to have released the patch yet, I don't suppose there's any chance I could get access to your copy of the plugin code?

Just to show I do have the plugin purchased and installed already, here's my dev site: hidden link

You will see a custom field name sitting sadly in the middle of the slider 😉

Any help massively appreciated (if not code then perhaps tell me who to speak to at ThemePunch)

Thanks!

Simon

Hi Simon

I don't feel comfortable passing the plugin code (I'm sure you understand why), but you can probably get the people at Theme Punch to address the problem on your site directly by creating a support ticket at hidden link. Reference ticket #123716, username dawsonbarber.

They got back to me the same day that I created my ticket (even though it was the weekend) and diagnosed and applied a solution within a day or so.

But since they now know what the problem is, referencing the ticket # should get you sorted straight away (in their support system, they track response times and it's showing an average response time, for my ticket, of 11.2 hours).

HTH.

Cheers

Dawson

FYI

I have asked for an update on how this is progressing and will post here when I receive their reply.
