I am developing a new site which will have classified ads and a business directory, in both cases where there's an email address to contact the poster I'd like to send a formatted email explaining the enquiry came via my site.

I'd like to do something better than just adding a subject to a mailto link, I use formidable forms if anyone has tied that in before.

Appreciate any thoughts or experiences.

Dear Bob,

Formidable forms is out the range of Toolset, within Toolset and classified ads demo site, we use CRED plugin to send the Email, you can also format the email content manually with the CRED plugin, see our document:

So I'd need to create a post type for replies then a form to send the notification? I don't really need to keep the reply, is there any way not to save it?

Sorry Just thought this through and I can expire the post so that should work.

Sorry still have an issue with this.

I have an ad and I want to allow people to reply and make sure the ad author knows it comes from my site.

So I have a post type for the ad, I've created a post type for replies but how do I send the notification for the reply to the ad author?

Following your suggestion and conversation with Agnes I now have a working solution.
