I have a field group with various custom fields. As part of the field group I have a repeatable group with 2 fields in it. However, when creating a form with CRED I dont have the option of adding it. Why is this?

The current Forms implementation does not allow management of repeatable field groups (RFGs) within the same Form as management of the parent post. On the backend, RFGs are implemented essentially as child posts in a one-to-many relationship with their parent post. Similarly to how you cannot add a child post in the same Form that creates or edits a parent post, you cannot add or edit an RFG in a Form that creates or edits its parent post.

The current workflow for RFG management in Forms is discussed over here, along with some of the current limitations of Forms for RFGs: https://toolset.com/documentation/getting-started-with-toolset/creating-and-displaying-repeatable-field-groups/front-end-forms-for-repeatable-field-groups/

We have some builder improvements for Forms in QA right now, and some of this workflow may be adjusted in the next couple of weeks.
