I am trying to: remove the author and date from the front end view of a custom post type

I expected to see: I didn't knowingly add those fields in to the content template or custom fields group so not sure if they are a default. I'm a beginner, so I likely overlooked something.
Instead, I got:

Author Meta Data is, if not added to your Content Template or View, most probably displayed by your Theme.
You could check if you have a Theme Options Settings that allows you to enable/disable such Meta Data display.
If you check your Posts (default WordPress Posts or Custom Posts) with Types only enabled, is the Author Data still displaying?
In this case it's coming from your Theme.
If it's not anymore displaying you added it in Content Templates or Views, in this case you can seek for
this short codes and remove them:
wpv-post-date
wpv-post-author
