[Resolved] Random order is not working in views and sliders

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the order option on the user's view is not working.

Solution:

In this user's case they had the Post Order plugin installed and active. This plugin will overwrite the order function for views so I would recommend disabling it.

hi,

I am trying to: create a slider to show random posts. but it is always showing the same posts in the same order (post date)

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link
1. horizantal slider and also 2. vertical slider has same issue
both of the codes has "cached='off'" indicator. and at the view section order option is selected as: random.

I expected to see: random order

Instead, I got: post date order

Hello,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

Actually this is being caused by the "Post Types Order" plugin as it overwrites our views order query.

If you disable the plugin you will notice your items are sorted randomly now.

Thanks,
Shane
