We need to build a directory website featuring businesses. Listing page will have photos, video, social profile links, address, map, etc..

We need to know if Toolset is the right solution. We need answers to the following:

- geo search: auto detect users location and search for businesses in their area
- radius slider: adjust distance radius to search businesses in their area
- search based on keyword, category, zip code, etc.. We need as many search parameters as possible
- ability to put each business in multiple top catetories
- ability for businesses to claim their listing, then we approve their claim, then they can login and edit info about their business we allow theme too.

This theme is what we are tying to duplicate:

Thanks in advance!

Dear derrick,

There aren't the two features within Toolset yet:
- geo search: auto detect users location and search for businesses in their area
- radius slider: adjust distance radius to search businesses in their area

For your others:
1) search based on keyword, category, zip code, etc.. We need as many search parameters as possible
Yes, it is possible with Views parameter search form, see our document:
Parametric search – Letting Visitors Filter Content
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/front-page-filters/

2) ability to put each business in multiple top catetories
You can setup a custom Hierarchical taxonomy for it:
WordPress Custom Taxonomies
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/create-custom-taxonomies/

3) ability for businesses to claim their listing, then we approve their claim, then they can login and edit info about their business we allow theme too.
I think it is possible within CRED user form, you can setup a CRED form for creating user, after the user is created, change the author specific post to the new user with CRED action hook cred_save_data
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/cred-api/#csd

Thanks for the reply.

Since your solution cannot handle geo location and radius, can we use another plugin that will take the place of your search form, such as something like this - https://wordpress.org/plugins/geo-my-wp/.

I think adding this function would be a great benefit to you as every directory theme uses this now and its standard.

Thanks

Q1) can we use another plugin that will take the place of your search form
It is depends on you, you can try other plugins and feedback if there is any compatibility problem, and I am not familiar with the plugin:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/geo-my-wp/
You can contact the plugin author for it, or check out our certified partners

Q2) I think adding this function would be a great benefit to you as every directory theme uses this now and its standard.
Thanks for the feedback, I put it into our to-do list as a feature request, our developers will evaluate it, but there isn't any ETA for it.
