Tell us what you are trying to do? I am interested in learning if there is a provision within the Toolset ecosystem to auto-assign authorship of a post (e.g. Member Directory Listing). Goal would be to allow user to edit/modify their listing. This is cured obviously by giving them a form from which they would originate the post. We are transferring a membership from one app to this new one with Toolset (and don't want to cause them any undue brain damage from having to submit their listing again).

Is there any documentation that you are following? Not really

Is there a similar example that we can see? No

What is the link to your site? Already submitted

Hi Stephen,

Thank you for contacting us and I'd be happy to assist.

When a logged-in user will create a new post through the front-end, he/she will automatically be set as the author of that post.
( ref: https://toolset.com/documentation/getting-started-with-toolset/publish-content-from-the-front-end/forms-for-creating-content/ )

Likewise, if a post edit form will be used on the front-end to make changes to that post, the original post author will not be changed.
( ref: https://toolset.com/documentation/getting-started-with-toolset/publish-content-from-the-front-end/forms-for-editing/ )

Based on what you've shared, if you're setting the post authors correctly to the imported posts, they should not be affected when those posts are edited through the front-end forms.

I hope this helps and please let me know if you need any further assistance around this.

regards,
Waqar
