[Resolved] Moving custom fields between groups

This support ticket is created 7 years ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

I have two User Field Groups, one of which is restricted to admins, which are already populated with data (>1000 users). We have decided that a field in the restricted group should be available to users, so I want to move it to the the other group. Is this possible?

Hi Neil

- Edit the User Group you want to move the field to and Add a New Field.

- Note in the dialog that appears the option to "Choose from previously created fields" (see screenshot).

- Add the field you want to move to this group and save

- Go to the original Group and delete the field

Before you do the last step you might just want to edit a user profile and confirm that the field is available in the target group.
