Thank you for contacting us here in the Support Forum

This is a known issue and our DEV has fixed it in our current version of Toolset Starter Theme.

You should be able to update to Toolset Starter 1.3 and this should fix the issue.

You can get the Toolset Starter theme 1.3 here:
https://toolset.com/account/downloads/#toolset-themes

Please don't hesitate to inform me in case the issue persists

Thank you for your patience.

I made much work with customization of current site. And i scare to lose whole design etc.
When I update Toolset Starter 1.3 will i lost my custom theme? Could you please help me to update our site without loosing previous design?

Thanks for the Details

If you have modified the original Theme, without using a Child theme, you will loose every customization you made.

There is no way around this, as it is recommended process to use Child themes if you want to modify a Theme, to avoid this exact problem.

WordPress goes over this process in it's Codex:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

You can also start with our Toolset Starter Child Theme:
https://toolset.com/account/downloads/#toolset-themes

If you use a Child theme, updating the Parent Theme will not remove your customizations.

Always, a backup of your Site is recommended, so you can easily switch back if necessary:
https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups

Please let me know if you need further infos about this.

Thank you for your patience.

Are there any other way to fix this problem with submenu without updating the theme? Can I copy all files from parent to toolset-starter-child and then update parent theme without loosing previous customizations?

#340644

Unfortunately there is only the possibility of updating the theme.

I suggest to create a Child theme, as this is recommended by WordPress and would avoid you future problems when updating the Theme.

You can read here how to create or customize your Child Theme:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

Every detail that you want to customize must be in the Child Theme, that means as example if you have customized some style CSS you need to have the changes in your Child theme.

This will always be loaded before the Parent Theme.

Please let me know if you need further infos about this.

Thank you for your patience.

Does it work when you use the latest version of the Toolset Starter Theme?

If yes, the issue lies within your Child Theme and the field you have customized must be updated/changed.

Please don't hesitate to inform me in case the issue persists using the original Starter Theme.

Also check if any 3rd Party Plugin builds conflicts with the Bootstrap/Theme
You can check this by disabling them to test.

Thank you for your patience.

Hello!

"Does it work when you use the latest version of the Toolset Starter Theme?"

What does it mean? I have latest version of Stater Theme you suggested me to update.

"If yes, the issue lies within your Child Theme and the field you have customized must be updated/changed."

If you know what must be updated then please tell me or i can give you credentials and you can see what's wrong. I can't wait every 2 days for replies. I have no idea what field in menu must be updated/changed.

"Also check if any 3rd Party Plugin builds conflicts with the Bootstrap/Theme

How to know if plugin builds conflict with submenu?

Unfortunately I can not debug Custom Code in your Child theme.

The code changes made in the Starter Theme are more then a few lines, and I would need to consult a DEV member to debug what exactly is not updated in your Custom Child theme.
We can not do this, as we usually do not support Custom Coding.

Regarding your questions,

1. What does it mean? I have latest version of Stater Theme you suggested me to update.

Yes, but you have a Child theme and most probably you have customized some files where changes have been made by the Update.
If you do not change the Child theme Files, according the Updates, the parent theme has no possibility to apply the fix, as the Child theme Files have "priority"

This first answer to this post is very helpful to understand how, and when, you need to check your Child theme's files against Parent Theme Files after a released update:https://wordpress.org/support/topic/about-child-themes-parent-themes-and-updates

This is why I ask, if it is working with the original, parent theme enabled, then the issue must rely within the Child Theme Files.

2. If you know what must be updated then please tell me or i can give you credentials and you can see what's wrong. I can't wait every 2 days for replies. I have no idea what field in menu must be updated/changed.

As mentioned, I can not debug Custom Code, this is beyond the scope of our support.

At this point I would suggest you consider contacting one of our certified partners from this link:
https://toolset.com/consultant/

You will get the custom assistance you need to get on with your project.

I suggest to check what files you have changed in your Theme (Child)
Then compare those against the Parent Them's files
This way you will recognize where eventual changes in your Child theme are required.

3. How to know if plugin builds conflict with submenu?

I mentioned, you can check this by disabling the 3rd Party Plugins.

If the issue goes away by doing so, you will know that one of the plugins builds issues.
Then you can find it by re-enabling one by one and find when the issue comes back.

I apologize that I can not debug the Custom Code.

Please let me know if you need further infos about this.

Thank you for your patience.

I want to ask, do you use Layouts Plugin to display your Menu?

If so, please follow this exact instructions in this Thread:
