Tell us what you are trying to do? edit loop without losing block

Is there any documentation that you are following? n/a

Is there a similar example that we can see? na/

What is the link to your site?
1. create view loop
2. edit content template as block. save.
3. edit view loop (to change number of columns)
4. the content template block is reset. how do i keep my block that i've worked hard to format, and keep it attached to my view?

Hello,

I have tried the steps you mentioned above in a fresh WP installation + the latest version of Toolset plugins, but don't see the problem as you mentioned above:

4. the content template block is reset

So the problem is abnormal, please check these:
1) Make sure you are using the latest version of Toolset plugins, you can download them here:
https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

2) In case it is a compatibility problem, please deactivate all other plugins, and switch to wordpress default theme 2020, and test again

3) Also check if there is any PHP/JS error in your website:
https://toolset.com/documentation/programmer-reference/debugging-sites-built-with-toolset/

4) If the problem still persists, please provide database dump file(ZIP file) of your website, you can put the package files in your own google drive disk, share the link only, also point out the problem page URL and view URL, I need to test and debug it in my localhost, thanks

ok, i'll check all - but just to be sure I understand, if i click inside my loop and click edit and change the number of columns (using the graphical interface, not editing the code manually) then should my content template using blocks stay intact?

(one thing i tried was to make a copy of the content template before performing the above, but then i didn't know how to connect it back to the view - is that possible?)

Yes, you are right, after save the page/post:

then should my content template using blocks stay intact?

For the new question:
but then i didn't know how to connect it back to the view - is that possible?)
You can add a Toolset Content Template block into View Loop, and choose existed content template
