[Resolved] Disable Featured Image in Layouts Theme Options is not working

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I have selected "disable featured image" in Layouts Theme Options, but I am seeing inconsistent results on the front-end of the site.

Solution: Make sure there are no Content Templates applied to these posts by disabling Layouts temporarily, then editing the posts. After reactivating Layouts, you may have to modify the setting to trigger an update. Our developers are aware of some issues that happen when Theme Options in Content Templates and Layouts conflict with one another, and are looking into some ways to improve this experience.

Okay I'm able to replicate this, but then I was able to fix it by deactivating Layouts and switching the theme option in the Content Template to "Disable", save it, then switch it back to "Enable". At that point I reactivated Layouts and the title reappeared. So it seems to be related to having overlapping Content Template Theme Options and Layout Theme Options. Resaving the Content Template seems to resolve the issue. I can escalate this to my 2nd tier support team for further investigation, but in the meantime this workaround should be sufficient. I also recommend that you do not use Theme Options in both Content Templates and Layouts, to prevent these types of conflicts.

I just confirmed with my 2nd tier support team that our developers are aware of the potential conflict between Content Template Theme Options and Layout Theme Options, and we have scheduled some time to discuss how this should be handled in a future development cycle. For now, the best solution is to avoid using Theme Options in Content Templates and Layouts simultaneously. If conflicts occur, deactivate Layouts and inspect any Content Template applied to the current Post. De-associate the Content Template with this post, then reactivate Layouts.
