I have created a custom post called "Discovery" on my site using OceanWP theme. I have de-activated the sidebar from appearing on posts (Customize > Blog > Single post > Layout), but it still appears on custom posts. I have deactivated all plugins (except Toolset) to rule out incompatibility. I logged out and back in, I cleared cache. I tested putting back the sidebar on posts, moving it to the left side, removing it again: it does work on "normal" posts but not on my custom posts.
I played around with the layouts and content templates for my custom posts, even created a second template after making sure the sidebar was inactive on normal posts (in case the template was generated from an earlier configuration that was retained after customizing). By the way, I noticed that the documentation was not up-to-date on several occurences.
Well, nothing worked. I need your help and advice. Thanks in advance.
This is because it is using the default post template for the CPT, normally users will need to create their own custom php template and remove the sidebars themselves in order to achieve this while some themes have it in their settings to remove the sidebars.
If this theme doesn't allow you to do this then you will need to create a custom template and manually remove the sidebar.
However, the "Theme options" that are shown at 1:30 in the video, and in an image down the page, do not appear on my own Layout or Content template. Why is that? If I had access to these as in the video, I would just disable the sidebar, as your demonstrator disables it at 1:50 in the video.
Sorry for the late response. We had a long weekend here. in Canada, we have our Thanksgiving before the US, presumably because our winter is also sooner!
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you again and tell you that the beta worked just fine for me. I was able to do what I wnated to do and everything else seems fine.
