I want to create an output of some custom article types. For each custom article type , a different custom field should be displayed.
- custom article type : book
- custom article type: quote
"book" has the custom field "book_cover"
"quote" has the custom filed "quote_text"
it seems that "views" only allows to define the output of custom fields for a group of custom article types, not for each article type itself. is this right?
so how could i realize this?
Use the same view and output all the fields in the view. (both book_cover and quote_text) The empty fields simply won't appear. You can also use wpv-if to check if a field is empty in case you need to write some wrapper divs around it or similar.
You have a custom Post Type Article. Article has N number of posts(Entries). Using Views you want to list the Article Posts. But each Article Post's fields will not be same, am I correct ?
In that case you need to follow View Conditional HTML output https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/conditional-html-output-in-views/.
Thanks a lot
