I am trying to:
Create a horizontal table layout of children. All of the tutorials and the loop wizard create vertical tables
For example
Name | Image
First item name | First Item Image
Second item name | Second item Image

I am trying to create a table (html table) that shows the items vertically
For example

Name | First Item Name | Second Item Name
Image | First Item Image | Second item Image

I hope that makese sence

For an example I want to create a table similar to this site (note not my site, just an example)

The example you point to is using a normal "horizontal" table.

It has:
Image
name
type
grain
suited for

Repeated horizontally.

this you will achieve with the GRID Wizard when choosing "Table based Grid" or "Table"

The output will be a table, where horizontally departed in vertical columns each "group" of things are displayed.

Attached a Screenshot of a output of a Table Based Grid.

If you customize the Content Template that Views generates for you, you can achieve also more detailed separation of the Items

I attached a more customized output example in the second ScreenShot.

This seems to me what you describe here:
Name | First Item Name | Second Item Name
Image | First Item Image | Second item Image

The DOC to achieve this is here:

Thanks
